Our stretchers are made of the highest quality finger-jointed pine, which stays straight and true through time. The flat back bar was the first heavy-duty stretcher bar produced featuring a double mortise and tenon corner joint. This feature insures a sturdy, self-locking, adjustable corner and does not roll when the canvas is stretched very tight. The bead on the bar is designed to keep the canvas off the bar and still give the edge the support it needs without stressing the canvas. The rabbeted, flat back side of the bar allows the cross braces to fit flush with the back of the bar.
Bracing Systems
Craft Cut Products offers two cross brace widths: the standard cross brace which is 1 3/4″ wide, used for small to medium-sized canvases, and the heavy duty cross brace which is 2 3/4″ wide and can be dadoed to make several different bracing configurations.
